Romulan Hybrids |
The Romulan Hybrid that are sold by NGSC are not just the result of randomly crossing it with everything good they found. In fact NGSC has crossed thier prized Romulan male with many more strains than whats listed for sale to the public. Only the Quality hybrids were choosen to be offered after test grows were done on the results. For 10 years NGSC has worked with Romulan and its different crosses and has got it down to the best ones. These are the crosses they have produced and researched with the Romulan and decided not to release. The others are the released ones they have choosen to offer to everyone due to there proven quality. Romulan Researched Hybrids: MasterKush, BCBig Bud, Hawiian Ind, Hawiian Sativa, Celestial Temple Sativa, Afgani, Sweet Tooth, Thia, Northern Lights, BC Kush. Romulan Released Hybrids: Grapefruit, Island Sweet Skunk, Timewarp, Super Silver Haze, Blueberry, Hashplant, Diesel.
Romulan has always been the medical favorite in British Columbia. Hybridizing it with these strains has made the sometimes touchy Romulan alot easier to grow. Greenhouse and outdoor growers in milder areas below or around the 49 Parrelel will appresiate the earlier and hardy Romulan/Grapefruit, Romulan Max, Romulan Diesel and the Romulan/Timewarp. Mid October finishes flowering on these. For growing the other crosses outdoors ( Romulan/ISS, Blueberry Punch, Romulan/Hashplant, Romulan Haze) you will have to be at least below or around the 40th parrelel. The male is an 8th generation Backcross that was selected from a large seed run(500 seeds). At this time most of the Romulan crosses are with this strong male, the flavour and potency of the Romulan is very dominant in its crosses. However, the growing structure tends to follow that of the female parent making for more potent better producing hybrids. There are plans on producing more crosses with the original Romulan cutting very soon. During the last large seed run, another special seedling stood out from the rest. It was faster flowering than all the others by a week and was about 30% bigger. We kept a copy of this special Romulan Seedling and it is now the mother of the "Romulan Max". Its production level is the same as top producers like NL#5 and Hashplant. It may not be as strong as the original Romulan but at least its still stronger than most other strains around.
